Are you interested in knowing how Icelanders make their electricity? Almost 100% of electricity made and used in Iceland is made by renewable energy, with wind, geothermal and hydro power. On this day tour you will see power plants of all three types. Your guide for the day will be Ingi Svavarsson CEO of Arctic Exclusive, he is both an master electrician and energy engineer, truly an expert and enthusiast when it comes to Icelandic electricity. 
This tour is not only about electricity and natures power, we will also get the change to admire some breathtakingly beautiful nature, we will stop by waterfalls, see how the Vikings used to live in Iceland among with secret spots that will not be mentioned here.

Highlights:

​Hellisheiðarvirkjun, Geothermal power plant situated in an area called Hengill, the largest geothermal power plant in Iceland. Hellisheiðarvirkjun provides both electricity and hot water for space heating.  We will have a guided tour learning all there is to know about geothermal power plants.

Ljósafoss stöð

Ljósafoss stöð, hydro power plant, situated in south Iceland. Brought online in the year 1937. The Ljósafoss power plant uses the power of nature, through water to make clean green electricity. 
​Hjálparfoss, a beautiful waterfall in Þjórsárdalur valley, the waterfall is surrounded with strange and interesting basalt formations.

​Stöng, a Reconstructed Farm based on the excavated farmhouse Stöng from the Commonwealth Era in Iceland.
